Spencer's Gift Rotating Beacon Light
WSS006 (Black)(05-09)
Fixture's Information.
I have bought this beacon at the local mall's Spencer's Gifts store for $20 in late 2009. I got this since I always wanted a beacon light. Only I wish I had bought two of them, one to be blue, one to be red. (First Pic was edited so both domes in use can be shown.)
Fixture's Size.
Here's the light with the two domes with a 12oz soda can for size comparison. Not a very big light.
ID Tag.
Here's the ID tag showing the model number and the Chinese maker's brand. Hengxing Lamp Material Co. made this beacon for Spencer's Gifts. It was made in 47th week of May 2009.
The metal wire thingy is for hanging the light on the ceiling. Only if the beacon had some more weight to it. It's too light and the cable powering it can make it crooked simply by it's weight and stiffness. More weight in it would keep the light straight.

Lamp Included.
Here's the lamp included with this light. Not a very bright lamp. No need to be bright as the light is used indoors and usually in dark rooms. Just a mere 15w lamp. It's bright enough to see it in lit rooms.
Reflector.
Here's is the reflector in the light. It's not a perfect reflector since it was made of plastic coated with chrome. It can be removed by unscrewing the red screw. Just pull it up and out and you're done.
Don't see why someone would do that! If you wanted steady burning light, just buy a simple weatherproof fixture and use colored lamps in it! It's cheaper to buy from them anyway than modifying a $20 beacon light.

Lamp Holder.
Here's the lamp holder that came with the light. It only takes candelabra (E-12) based lamps only. 15w max rating.
The lamp holder is not perfectly fixed. It wobbles a little bit.

Dome Used.
Here's the blue dome used. I am using it more than the red since blue is my favorite color!
Spare Dome.
Here's the extra dome that came with the light. I use it occasionally.
Internals.
Here's the internals after the lid with the ID tag and wire hanger is removed. You can see the motor that spins the reflector around the lamp.
Motor Used.
Here's the motor that spins the reflector on the other side after removing the black rubbery block glued on top. It spins about 72RPM. Giving about 72FPM (Flash Per Minute.)
Reason it spins so slow is because of internals gears built in the motor.
Made by Jun Tuo or JT. Of course it in China.

Switch.
Here's the switch that turns on or off this beacon light. Would be cleaner and better if it was mounted on the base of the beacon.
Lit Blue Dome.
Here's the light powered up. Not very bright ain't it? Due to the fact incandescent lamps are bad at producing blue light.
The blue is kinda of a faded light blue.

Lit Red Dome.
Here's the light powered up. Bit brighter than the blue one. Because the incandescent lamp in it rocks at producing red light!
Strong red light from this light. The pic doesn't do justice.

Domeless Lit Light.
Here's the light without either dome. Wonder if they make clear (white colored) domes for this light. Not safe to leave this light like this. If you get your finger between the reflector edge and the lamp holder's support flame, it can pinch hard. The reflector if blocked will start spinning the other way so it will be a quick pinch.
The Box.
Here's the box the light came in. Somewhat beat up since I had this for two years! I use this box for storing the light and the extra dome when I am not using it and it's in the way.
